So I'm back and reading it again. *G* Phoebe mentions how it's scarier than it appears, and of course the first thing that caught me when searching the tags list for my remix was the subtitle. On the surface, it's gleaming and delicate, but there's a subtle threat of sharpness, underscored by calling it a "mash-up." And maybe I'm weird for thinking of that as part of the sweetness, but part of what I love about Hisoka, and what I think Tsuzuki loves about Hisoka, is how unflinching he is, how he has edges that can cut you. And I think Hisoka loves the power in Tsuzuki that Tsuzuki so fears, loves that he can be himself, rough and edged and angry, and Tsuzuki has the strength to hold him even so.
Really, I just love how subtle and clever this is, and it says something that I've read it through several times already. I love a story that can give me something new each time.
