Oh, I loved this. Nice to see some of the mechanics of protecting the higher-ups from what they don't really want to know explored. And I like that the primary interaction is between Lorne and McKay. Most fics I've seen with both characters present don't have them relating to one another at all, but in canon I think more of Lorne's dialogue (aside from "yes sir!") has been with McKay than with anyone except Zelenka.
