Ooh... I really like the way you've expanded this drabble, with the symbolism of the various leaves and twigs (the language of flowers?) and Rodney's sheer cluelessness. I suspect a cypher would interest Rodney in any context, and here, it just takes him a few minutes to get past the rather perplexing technology (plants) to realise that this is actually really cool. Hmm... and Rodney meaning something that he doesn't even know he said, because maybe he can sort of figure it out in Teyla's reaction? I love that, too.
