I really liked the pattern of this, the way Dean's concious thoughts are interspaced with memories, I loved the memories, both the remixed ones and the ones you brought, I really liked the order the memories go in, the way they trickled down to the most essential ones, which are always family, for Dean.
What I think is most interesting, remixy-wise, is that my stories had Dean's definition being unconcious, something he didn't think about, whereas this version keeps the unconcious version via the memories, but interlayers that with Dean's concious self-identification of himself - you both make Dean own himself, and you make him seize that ownership, thus capturing Dean's enormous strength of will. (Belief in the reconstruction of the definitions of the universe through force of will is, imo, quite the Winchester trademark.)
Anyway. I'm quite impressed with this, I liked it lots, and it's given me things to think about re: Dean.
And, of course, Sammy to the rescue, Sam who did come, as Dean knew he was going to. (((Sammy)))

Oh, yeah.
Oh, Dean.
Yeah.
(Am I supposed to be coherent here? Oooops.)
