uselessest is totally a new word! :-P

It made me so happy that a lot of R/S OTP'ers enjoyed it

I always wonder about shipping tendencies. I've seen a lot of OTPers - in all ships - who are so completely set on the characters being one thing and one way, ONLY, and any deviation from that mold that the shipper has in their head is considered "wrong" or "bad" or hell, even blasphemy. I refuse to lock myself into that singular mindset, especially where Remus/Sirius is concerned. I love the variety and the versatility.

Of course there are certain characterizations and affectations (and cliches) that I despise, and even those that I do like/love can be done poorly and make my eyes bleed. But from my experiences, the people and writers I admire most are those who are able to see the characters as fluid and changeable, those who are more willing to embrace the "what if" possibilities as opposed to being locked into that rigid singlemindedness.

(In Smutmas, there was this one Harry/Draco fic that I loved - in fact it was one of my favorite stories in Smutmas (and that says enough in itself as I'm not a H/D shipper.) And the irony was that a LOT of H/D shippers HATED it. Loathed it. And it caused a bit of controversy in some of the circles over there - which made me laugh and roll my eyes. Oh, shippers! They always bring the LOLZ. :-P
