Wow. I rarely read fanfic that moves me as much as this piece did.
For the first time it occurs to him that maybe he’s not just meant to be fixing his own life with her words. Maybe she expects him to fix hers as well. This is the line that made me tear up. I could picture Lee realising that and what a profound shift it would be if this did occur to him.
Yes, he thinks, yes: just as destructive and just as unavoidable. Perfect, perfect summation! Lee knows exactly how destructive and inescapable it is.
I love the Lee in this fic--the nuances are perfect. And I'm fussy where Lee is concerned! In short, you rock!
