*raises hand* 'tis me! I'm so relieved you like it, first off! It's definitely not my normal fare (ie. mostly gen. I'm more of a shipper, really) but something about this story struck me, and then Earl just came along and thought he'd be in it and yes... the rest is history. I'm glad I was able to keep the same mood of the original. You are the queen of dark!fic and so I have to confess I was a bit intimidated but I'm glad I did the atmosphere justice *g* Thank you again for all your kind words, it was a pleasure getting to know all your fics and working with this one in particular :)
