Everything you say just makes me feel really good.
The original author seemed to feel that demonic hive-rats were a little off-putting — though he praised the story overall — but to me they felt like the right mix of 1) something that could cause Angel some problems, by surprise and numbers, and 2) something that Xander would be able to fight against with reasonable effectiveness but without coming across as unrealistically heroic.
