Fabulous. Tingly and awesome and with that awareness of infinite space being held back, for awhile at least, before these the Doctor's companions have to appear again all prim & proper with secrets dancing behind their eyes. For they don't seem just the Doctor's women/companions/assistants anymore.
I love Leela, no matter what she does, because she's Leela (I realize this doesn't actually describe much), because if you look at the mere fact that she runs off with the Doctor in the first place, you have to know that there's so much more to her than just an ignorant savage. She should have DONE more. And now she can. She's become a wise woman in her own time. And Andred, feh. Let 'im suffer. (sorry to Andred fans) His presence is a stark reminder of intrusions and coldness and the infinite blackness of space coming back down on the women once more. Though now they have new knowledge to warm them.
And look at Tegan! She's awesome here. This statement of Leela's: "Your body cries out for the pleasure of mating," just - wow. Wraps her up right enough. The fact that she's willing to acknowledge that makes her the powerful person she should be.
Nyssa is perfect here, her voice small and wondering and her eyes far away, yet asking exactly what needs to be asked, having been brought out of herself, finally. And what she asked had to be brought out into the open, even though Tegan gets to be the wise one in the end, after all. There had to be someone to ask it.
Wise woman, mother, maiden; all three.
And yes, they should make the Doctor BEG for mercy & more, in any timeline.
